SEO Tip #1: Things to do on a new website SEO Tips on a new website

A lot of website owners usually are in a state of lost after their website is completely finished. But what should they do next? Fresh websites usually build links rapidly which is a big mistake. Not only that they are in danger of not showing on the SERPS but most importantly they will not get the fast ROI that they aim for. In this article we will introduce our friends, namely those who know little about SEO and link building services.

Nowadays website designers are aware of the effects of SEO on a certain website so let’s presume the new website is already done with the On-page SEO.

“On page SEO refers to the optimization of a website within its every pages, and usually this is done before the site go live. It is consists of keyword research, meta-tagging, etc”.

Here are some steps on what to do on a new website (1 month or less):

Be Friendly, Be Search Engine Friendly.

Major search engines: Google, Yahoo and Bing. After submitting your website to these three do the:

Directory Submission

Although it will take a month or two or maybe a year ( happens to me ). Directory submission will be a big help especially if the directory you are submitting to is related to your niche.

Spread the word

Bookmark your website on popular social bookmarking sites such as Stumbleupon, Digg, Delicious and Reddit to name a few. Due to huge amount of members of these sites, your website will surely gain exposure especially if it contains information that is useful to many people. Another method in spreading your website contents is via Rss feed submission. Some of the names that you should take note of when it comes to this are: Feedcat, Plazoo, Rapidfeeds, Blogdigger, RSS Mountain, Icerocket, etc…

Blog Commenting

Do at least 1 or 2 blog comments a day on blogs that is related to your niche. Make sure that your comments are related to the post and not some “cheap” comments such as: “thank you for this”, “bookmarked and subscribe”, “I will be waiting for your nest post”, etc…

Word of Advice:

Since the website is new, build back links at the minimum, backlinks of 1 -5/day should be enough. But do not overdo it, or you may not get what you want. Always remember, “Good things happen to those who wait”.
